Istanbul Technical University Space Syntax Workshops: SpaceChase for Grasshopper

Space Syntax Workshops have been completed!

The idea of the project was explained on the first day of the workshop organized by Nilüfer Kozikoğlu, Pelin Dursun Çebi, Tuğrul Yazar, Oğulcan Üneşi and Çağla Yımaz as part of the ‘Morphology in Architecture’ course at Istanbul Technical University.

Played by architecture students as a component of the Architectural Morphology class at the ITU Faculty of Architecture, “Ikidebir,” is a game in which simple rules make up a network where the nodes are in motion until they asymptotically settle into a configuration that satisfies the rule for each individual. This game engenders a dynamic system in a given space and played to improve narration.

The interface of the SpaceChase for Grasshopper plugin was introduced and it was aimed for the participants to understand and experience the interface by following the steps. On the second day of the workshop, the projects that the participants had worked on before and the Istanbul Biennial venues were analyzed and discussed.
